Some of my favorites from this list are The Food Dude, Chasing Delicious, Carlos Eats and (of course) Thug Kitchen.
What I liked about The Food Dude is how simple his page was. Everything was clearly marked and easy to read. He had good pictures and it can be really useful for people around the Oklahoma City Area. Compared to Tulsa Food, it was very clean and professional.
Chasing Delicious is more of a cooking blog. The one thing I know about cooking is that I don't know how to do it. But while looking at this blog, I found myself wanting to try. That's how good it is. It's interesting and the recipes look easy enough for anyone but eclectic enough to be special.
I think my blog will look the most like Carlos Eats. He does a great job of setting up his page and his posts are informative and has plenty of good pictures. There are links in the story so you can learn even more about what he's writing about. I realize that ads are great for the people that run the blogs but they are terrible for the readers. This blog does a good job of setting the ads apart from the content as to not disturb the reader.
Finally, Thug Kitchen. No explanation needed.
What I Didn't Like
Tulsa Food is a pretty great blog. The content is diverse and well written. However the page layout was so disorienting that you don't know where to click. The pictures are good, but the text is covering the lower third of it so you can't get a good look at the actual picture it's describing.
I've always had a bit of a problem with the way the Huffington Post is set up. Minimalism is nice, but some organization would be better. They tease a story on the front page but it takes forever to find the story you're looking for. Huffington's Taste is no different. Also, if you're looking for original content, look elsewhere. This site is all about linking to other pages.
